What to Expect on an Overnight Seward Boat Tour

Sam, Beth, and their family joined us for an overnight sailing tour in Resurrection Bay! Casting off at about 10:15, we enjoyed some fishing and fun on the way to Sunny Cove to drop anchor for the night. The group decided that a beach walk was in order, so we boarded the dinghy and went ashore. The evening ended with a delicious meal and much needed rest.

The following morning, we shared a late breakfast and more fishing! Along the way, we had a great sail back to the harbor with lots of pictures of the incredible day. We hope to see them again for another adventure!

  • Our sailing adventures are designed to be personal and intimate. We can comfortably accommodate small private groups of up to 6 guests.

  • Alaska's weather can change quickly, so we recommend packing in layers. We suggest a waterproof rain jacket, warm fleece or wool layer, sturdy non-slip shoes, a hat, gloves, sunscreen, water boots, and of course, your camera!

  • Not at all! Our trips are for everyone, from novice travelers to seasoned sailors. Your experienced captain and guide will handle all the sailing and navigation, allowing you to relax and enjoy the stunning Alaskan scenery. You can participate as much or as little as you'd like.

  • Prince William Sound and the Kenai Fjords are teeming with wildlife! We don’t see every animal on every trip, but sea otters, sea lions, puffins, bald eagles, humpback and orca whales, as well as Dall's porpoise make regular, and often spectacular, appearances. On shore excursions, you might even spot bears or river otters.

  • Yes, all meals and snacks aboard Sailaway are included in your tour price. A highlight of our trips is preparing and eating fresh seafood harvested from the sea, like rockfish and salmon. We can absolutely accommodate dietary restrictions (vegetarian, gluten-free, allergies, etc.). Please let us know your requirements when you book.

  • Our 1-day Resurrection Bay and 2-3 day Kenai Fjords tours are round-trip adventures starting and ending in Seward. The 4-5 day Seward/Whittier trip is a unique one-way journey, allowing you to experience a wider stretch of coastline without backtracking. This trip is perfect for travelers who plan to continue their Alaskan journey from Whittier by train or car.
